finally I made it work with my Sony A5100!! as you guys know the Sony Alpha 5100 has no hotshoe, I read all reviews says this will work to trigger an off camera flash. I bought this SYK-5 which use with my new Yongnuo-TX remote trigger and 2pcs of Yongnuo YN-560III.
at first the flash wasn't sync so I got a black screen. after some exploration, here is how it works.
in your Sony A5100 camera, you'll need to turn on Red-eye reduction function. Menu - Camera - page 3
in SYK-5, set to eye mode, and change the dial to one stop from middle.
fire you camera and it'll flash 5 flashes and shoot. the Seagul SYK-5 will perfectly sync with those sequence and fire the Yongnuo-TX. TX will then fire the rest of the speedlight simotenuosly and you'll get the expected result.
it's not better than on camera hotshoe, but it's a great workaround.
